Employee will become an integral member of the maintenance crew working under the direction of the Maintenance Shop Foreman. Employee will be responsible for maintaining and promoting professionalism; and for inspection, maintenance and repair of all equipment utilized by the Eddy County Road Department, Vector Control, Sign Department, and Environmental Services Department. Must have minimum two years’ experience in the service and maintenance of light, medium, and heavy duty equipment, both gasoline and diesel. Must be able to read accurately all gauges on tools and equipment and make correct judgments in the operation of equipment. Must be able to read and understand maintenance manuals, publications, work orders, blueprints, and schematics. Responsible for the documentation of inspections and repairs performed. Responsible for the acquisition of the necessary parts, equipment, and tools to perform assigned tasks. Responsible for the maintenance of a safe and clean work area. Responsible for the fabrication of various tools, equipment, parts, and materials. Responsible for the continuing knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures, and the safe operation of all tools and equipment. Responsible for daily activity reports and equipment records. Must have the ability to perform all duties in an individual or crew environment, in the shop or field. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, overtime, attend job-related meetings, in and out of state, and perform other duties as assigned.
STARTING HIRING RANGE:
$23.18 - $25.58 per hour DOE
