Conservation Field Technician (Entry Level) – Milnesand

The Conservation Field Technician is a full-time hourly permanent position located in Milnesand, NM reporting to the District II Project Manager . The Conservation Field Technician will accomplish a wide variety of client needs including but not limited to:

  • Wildlife surveys (burrowing owl, raptor, herps, lesser prairie-chicken, etc.)
  • Special Status Plant Species Surveys
  • Cave and karst surveys
  • Water and soil sampling
  • Monitoring open trench for wildlife
  • Data organization
  • Mapping
  • Technical writing
This is an entry level position; we are prepared to train the right candidates. The salary range for this position is $22/hr. to $27/hr. Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work long hours in the field with potentially undesirable conditions.
  • Ability to hike up to 5 miles a day.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
Preferred
  • A Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Environmental Science, Wildlife Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, or related fields
  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS
  • Experience with plant and wildlife surveys
