2024 Leadership Carlsbad Application

On behalf of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, we appreciate your interest in the Leadership Carlsbad Program. We believe that Carlsbad is a wonderful community, and that is in large part due to the leadership shown by individuals such as yourself in local businesses, civic and non-profit organizations.

A few important items applicants should consider before applying:

• Must be at least 21 years old by the end of classes in May 2025
• Must have full support of employer and employing organization
• Must be available to participate in the nine-month program
• Expected to attend each monthly session held the third Friday of the month, October through May
• Must commit to participating in Leadership Carlsbad activities – activities include selecting a Community Enhancement project, developing goals and objectives, identifying resources, creating an implementation plan, and reporting on the outcome at graduation
• Must attend an overnight orientation retreat – the mandatory September retreat allows participants to get to know each other, understand what is expected, and create team/friendship bonds

Class participants are selected primarily based upon the written application. Express yourself clearly and concisely in the written application and take time to complete the application fully. Only sixteen (16) candidates are selected for each class, so freely brag about your accomplishments!

The cost of the program is $450 plus a $50 application fee (total fee of $500), which is due prior to the orientation retreat. The selection committee will be selecting the class in August after which you will be contacted regarding your application. Good luck, and again, thank you for your interest.
